Hand sculpted & hand painted bud vase, dipped in a transparent glaze.
Size approximately 16cm high and 2,5cm wide.
Elana the bud vase is part of a small try out collection in which I have explored decorating with underglaze (instead of clay slib, which I usually work with). The pieces of this collection have some characteristics that differ from the usual ones such as an un-colored bottom and slightly visible crackles in the transparent glaze. The crackles are caused by the high temperatures the pieces are fired in and give them a bit of an 'ícy' structure (see images).
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE BUD VASES:
The bud vases have a long, silly, quirky postures which gives them character but also makes them fragile! It is recommended to place the vase at a spot that is wind-free and has a low risk of being pushed over.
The Pottery Parade's hand built vases are sculpted and painted with lots of care, giving each of them their own unique character. The colored clay slibs used for decoration are provided by Studio Noot & Zo based in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
